anxiety state

Anxiety states, according to ICD-10 are different combinations of somatic and psychic symptoms of anxiety in the absence of real danger, manifested episodic or permanently.
From the psychoanalytic point of view, anxiety - affect or emotional state characterized by an unpleasant feeling of expectation or sense of impending danger. Common to all anxiety disorders are heart palpitations and breathing, tremors, sweating, diarrhea and muscle tension. Psychologically, anxiety is seen as all-encompassing experience of powerlessness in the face of impending threat, diffuse and uncertain. Anxiety may be accompanied or substituted by bodily sensations. Anxiety, reflecting an unconscious threat differs from fear is a response to the perceived and real external danger.
Since the neurotic symptoms are regarded as the avoidance of unpleasant experiences associated with anxiety, this concept is central to the whole of psychoanalysis.
Initially, Freud suggested that the alarm function is to signal I am about the dangers that illicit motives tend to break into consciousness. In his second theory of anxiety in 1926, Freud saw trouble with the position I am defining it as a specific response to the individually significant threat, in fact - as the fear of a loss. With the fear of threat derives from a recognizable external danger, whereas in neurotic anxiety danger comes from within.
Freud described a typical situation, the threats that occur in child development and forming anxiety (tendency of an individual to carry an alarm). The first of them - fear of losing the object, the trustee (usually the mother), from which the child is most dependent. Later, when the value is perceived libidinal object all the more clear it becomes fear of loss of love object. Still later in the first place there is the fear of bodily injury (castration). Finally, the latent period is characterized by fear of conscience and moral anxiety (after the establishment of the superego). Freud pointed out that although these "dangers" are specific to different phases, they can also exist in I'm an adult. The presence of early forms of anxiety in the later stages of development is a reflection of a neurotic fixation neurotic personality unconsciously afraid one of these early risks, experiencing anxiety as a reaction or symptoms, employees or repel the binding of this anxiety.
There are different levels of anxiety. Customary to distinguish the following types of anxiety disorders: panic reactions, phobias, generalized anxiety. Panic reaction (spontaneous, episodic anxiety attacks) psychoanalytic theory regards as protection against sexual or aggressive impulses of nature; phobia usually originates from the fear of something specific, then generaliziruyutsya; generalized anxiety - a chronic disorder accompanied by complex symptoms, originating in the phase situations of threat.
The problem of analytic therapy - careful study of the effects of anxiety patients with the aim of reducing and eliminating neurotic tendencies, caused its specific relation to themselves and others.
